Located north of Miami’s South Beach, Indian Creek Hotel is a sweet little art deco find with 60 guest rooms and tons of charm. With affordable rates, this spot is a great option for couples who want to save a few bucks but still be treated to great hospitality in a unique setting.

Built in 1936 in the “Pueblo Deco” style, this hotel has been lovingly restored. The bright, open lobby features great touches like sculpted-back couches and coffee tables made of vintage suite cases. If you let your mind wander, you’ll feel like you stepped into an old romance movie.

Though located a block from the ocean’s edge, Indian Creek is definitely not in the heart of South Beach. Some may like it’s quieter location for just that reason. And it certainly makes it a more affordable option.

Tim and I set out right after check-in with map in hand and were surprised at how quickly we ended up in South Beach. But as New York commuters, walking is normal for us. Others used to driving everywhere may be flagging a taxi before they end up at their hotspot of choice.
