The best meal of Jen and Eli’s Greek honeymoon also happened to be Eli’s birthday celebration. Jen says, “His birthday fell during our trip on September 22, so I took him out to dinner in Santorini at a restaurant overlooking the caldera, called Selene. This was hands-down our most romantic meal; all of the tables are outside and lit with candles.” Eli looks serious about that menu above.

Being a true food lover, Jen recounts the meal in detail, “We shared a seafood baklava appetizer (calamari, scallops, and fish layered between sheets of phyllo) and then I had fresh sea bass in a fava bean crepe and Eli had rabbit served on cheesy polenta with mushrooms, red peppers, and carrots. Not traditionally Greek, but a refined and creative take on Greek flavors.”

“Our server was Nick, and he had a great sense of humor and provided excellent service. Eli’s birthday dessert came out with a sparkler in it and Nick even gave us complimentary glasses of the Greek dessert wine vinsanto. The fact that we were on our honeymoon and it was also Eli’s birthday AND we were sitting at dinner on a cliff in Santorini was incredibly romantic.”

Selene also offers a full day cooking class, a very cool option for foodie honeymooners.

Lingerie is a given for any honeymoon. Chances are the bride-to-be will receive a stack of silky, sexy, lacy things from her girlfriends. Here are a few more items to add to the giftbag for the next bachelorette you know.

1. Wedding Tieside Knickers by Greenknickers – £25 (about $41 USD)

Why not spice things up while saving the planet too? We love Greenknickers’ commitment to recycling, responsible dyeing, efficiency, sustainability and fair trade. With an adorable pink gift box, their wedding undies feature the old/new/borrowed/blue theme and will be even more fun to take off then they are to put on.

2. Baby Bee Bubble Bath – $9

Burt’s Bees makes this stuff for the sensitive skin of babies, so you know it’ll be gentle enough for you and your baby. Add a few capfuls to a hotel tub-for-two, pour some champagne and let the sweet vanilla scent start your night off right. Made with coconut and sunflower oil, it’ll leave your skin soft and touchable the next day.

3. Victoria’s Secret Booty Parlor Massage Oil – $25

What could be sexier than a massage from your sweetie? Relax with the aromas of plums raspberries, jasmine, sandalwood and cedar in this 8.4 oz. bottle. This makes a romantic addition to any newlyweds’ night. A great idea for couples who get off on punny names.

4. Leather and Lace Soy Travel Candle – $9

Ignite some passion with this sultry scent. They’re the perfect size to drop into a carry-on. Consider ordering multiples to line the edges of a bathtub. Each 8 oz. candle is handmade by Etsy seller Deanne in her home and made with renewable soy. We also love her commitment to using recycled shipping supplies.
