RH Note: I’m thrilled to announce a new weekly feature on the site… Necessary Linkage, a collection of current and helpful tidbits from around the internets. They’ll be curated by the lovely Marissa Hussey, who’s honeymoon was one of our first features.

Get a fare deal
Have you been hearing tons about fare indicators and price predictors lately? I have. Bing has the most clearly presented outline of their services on flights and hotels, with their easy-to-understand traffic light-inspired icons. Since your honeymoon might be a trip you plan further in advance than most, these kinds of sites could bring the rare, elusive, oft-sought gem in wedding planning: saving money!
Doin’ it Vegas style
Picture a wedding in Vegas (powder blue suits a la The Hangover, anyone?). Now completely erase it, and fill it with this Las Vegas wedding that was recently featured on Style Me Pretty. One sentence for you: The design on their stamps from Zazzle.com flow directly into the actual design of their reply cards. I’ve died and gone to wedding stationery heaven.
Madrid’s Prado in under an hour?
I’m not sure how I feel about this as an art-lover, but regardless, there are some great know-before-you-go tips in Andrew Ferren’s article from the New York Times: Touring the Prado at Warp Speed. Does it really do these pieces justice to zip in and out, just to say you’ve seen them?
Incorrect footwear is a romance-killer
I took breaks on my urban European honeymoon from the pain of well-worn ballet flats that served me just fine in my day-to-day in NYC. REI has an in-depth breakdown of types of active footwear and what you’ll need to make sure you’re not whimpering your way through any terrain—from city sidewalks, to black sand, to rainforest floor.
Where to go (that’s blisfully warm)?
Fodor’s has a fantastic tool called 80 Degrees to suggest sunshine-y destinations best-suited to you based on your travel likes and dislikes. Start the quiz by sliding the bar between “Popular” and “Off the Beaten Path” or browse through the Top 25 Experiences slideshow for some drool-worthy photos.
Marissa’s first journey out of the country was on a school trip to England (since then her anglophilia has truly known no bounds). She throughly enjoys seeking out all things “delightfully Internet-y” to share with her friends.
